BJ Dworak

COUNSEL

Bryan (BJ) Dworak is Counsel to DCH Law LLP. His areas of practice with the firm are focused in the renewable energy and infrastructure space (spanning solar, storage, wind, energy efficiency and other technologies) and include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project development, construction and procurement, and project finance. BJ is a strategic business and legal advisor whose clients value his practical, real-world approach that emphasizes commercial solutions.

Immediately prior to joining DCH Law LLP, BJ was senior legal counsel at NineDot Energy, a battery energy storage developer focused on the New York metropolitan area. At NineDot, BJ was the company’s first in-house counsel and handled the full range of the company’s legal matters, with a particular emphasis on project finance, construction and procurement, sales and offtake, other development matters, and corporate compliance.

Prior to his time at NineDot, BJ was most recently senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP’s nationally-recognized energy sector and was a member of Foley’s Business Law Department and Finance Practice Group. At Foley, BJ represented clients at all stages of the project and company life cycle, including on matters relating to asset development or acquisition, to financing, to eventual dispositions. He closed transactions involving several billion dollars of committed capital and assets and including projects in over 30 U.S. states ranging from residential, commercial and industrial to large utility-scale projects and platform companies.

BJ received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law where he was an Executive Editor of Law & Contemporary Problems and a member of the Moot Court Board. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in Political Science and Global Studies and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha and received the Terry Sanford Award for Excellence, which was awarded by the Political Science Department for the best undergraduate thesis.

BJ works and lives just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his fiance and enjoys a variety of outdoor endeavors and backyard cooking pursuits. He is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
